 Antwerp is arguably the greater well known province in Belgium. The town is legendary for its light-hearted citizens who wouldn't mind giving a helping hand to a needy tourist if need be. One lovely fact about the hangout is that it is widely thought as as the diamond capital of the world, with the trade within Antwerp consisting of nearly 3/4ths of the diamond trade of the world.


Antwerp's ancient appeal is its most asset. Locales these as Rubenshuis and the Plantin Moretus Museum highlight the rich artistic and literary history of the compass, while churches such as the Cathedral of Our Lady and the Carolus Borromeus Church bring to mind the Catholic nurturing of the Antwerp ideas. There is also the very fascinating diamond district. Given that Antwerp is the diamond capital of the world, it is a must for every tourist to stop by the district where nearly all the diamond trade in the world is being held. The Antwerp Zoo is also of note, being one of the oldest in the world.
